Toaday I am posting a very big career opportunities in languages field and many institutes which run various courses in languages and allied studies.
Teaching:
Language teaching is one of the best opportunities available to those who are pursuing language studies. According to one estimate, at least 20 percent of the approximately two million teachers in government and private sector institutions in India are language teachers, most of whom teach English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu and other local languages. A good number of students pursuing higher studies in linguistics are selected for research fellowships. Apart from obtaining a degree/diploma in the relevant language, they need to complete teacher training or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) if the candidate wants to pursue a teaching career at the school level, to teach at the college or university level, one must have obtained Junior Research Fellowship or must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET). Institutions like IITs, IIMs and other institutions of technical studies also employ humanities teachers primarily in English for teaching communication skills including technical communication and business communication. Some institutes also hire experts in Hindi, Sanskrit and foreign languages to enhance the communication skills of their students.
Translation and Interpretation:
Translation is an important career option for language students. Various institutions including Ministries and PSUs as well as various departments of the Central and State Governments require the services of translators from time to time. Other bodies like UPSC, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariat also appoint translators. UPSC conducts Junior Translator exam every year to fill the vacancies of translators in various departments and ministries.
Official Language Officer:
This is a post which is mostly in Ministries, Government Departments, Banks, and PSUs. Rajbhasha Adhikari, as the name suggests, requires expertise in Hindi. But at the same time, it also requires expertise in English as a large number of their assignments are related to translation from English to Hindi and vice-versa.
Media:
Media is another important area in which there is a wide range of opportunities for students of language studies. While a qualification in journalism or mass communication is a prerequisite for this field, language skills are an equally important aspect and requirement to become a media professional. Media whether it is print, electronic or digital, transmits information through language. Most of the positions in media houses including content writer, sub-editor, assistant editor, editor as well as content manager, reporter, producer and correspondent require impeccable knowledge of the concerned language.
Publishing:
The book and publishing industry is another important sector for language professionals. The author is no less than a celebrity. But the book and publishing industry has much more to offer to a language student. These include proof reader, editor, translator and many other functions. The publishing industry is a great place for part time job seekers to use their language skills.
Creative Writing:
This is an important genre for language students. There are many opportunities for creative writers in films, advertising, theatre, media, digital platforms, websites, blogs and other sectors that require content.

This is another area where the services of a language expert are required. Traditional public relations skills, such as persuasive writing and media relations, are always valuable. But due to the advancement of technology, additional skills like social media content creation have also gained traction. Public relations specialists work for a variety of organizations including government, corporations, colleges and universities, schools, media buyers and professional associations.
